Since 2008 Gabriel and Maggie have taken part in the Perrotón, a yearly event organised by Purina Dog Chow, where people run with their dogs a pre-given route of 1.5 km, 3 km or 5 km.
Everyone, big and small, young and old, athletic and disabled, single and family, take part in this event. They all are so different, but have something in common: They love their four-legged companion and want to have fun together.

During the Perrotón 2009, where 6,500 people took part, we had the chance to do an (spontaneous, and therefore improvised) run of an agility course. I watched only two dogs doing the run in order to memorize the correct sequence of the obstacles. Maggie remembered everything, even the slalom, and she took the jumps whose bars were placed higher for medium-sized dogs. She only pulled the last double-bar jump at the end of the course. Maggie was quick and excited, howling (at me) as usual, although she had ran 1.5 km a few mintues ago. She did everything, and that after 4 years of no training whatsoever. (The last run she had had was during the World Dog Show in 2007, where we took part without training.) That was truly amazing!
